Snow and ice covered golf courses could cause problems for operators and superintendents with respect to turf damage and delaying the start of the season.

This winter Mother Nature has blanketed numerous golf courses across southern Ontario with mass amounts of snow and ice, now with spring approaching course operators are concerned.

Phil Scully, course superintendent for Granite Golf Club in Stouffville, Ont., has been elected the 2014 president of the Ontario Golf Superintendents’ Association (OGSA).



Jessica Aytoun, course superintendent for Sutton Creek Golf Club in Essex, Ont., was one of seven recipients to receive an expenses-paid trip to participate in the 2014 Golf Industry Show (GIS) in Orlando, Fla., last month.
