OGSA Elects 2014 200Phil Scully, course superintendent for Granite Golf Club in Stouffville, Ont., has been elected the 2014 president of the Ontario Golf Superintendents’ Association (OGSA).

Scully was the conference chairman for the associations’ recent annual conference, The Ontario Golf Course Management Conference and Trade Show, held at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto. More than 600 delegates and exhibitor representatives attended the successful event.

Founded in 1924, the association is celebrating its 90th year of operations in 2014 and was the first superintendent run (from inception) organization to exist in North America. The OGSA is an affiliated chapter of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), and one of the four founding chapters of the organization.

The GCSAA was represented at the event by president Pat Finlen (the Olympic Club, San Francisco) and CEO J. Rhett Evans who congratulated the OGSA and Scully as he started his term as president.
