Shaw Communications’ Global Television will become golf’s broadcast home for Canadian fans with 26 weekends of Professional Golfer’s Association (PGA) Tour broadcasts through 2018.

“These new agreements make Global the home of the most comprehensive golf coverage on Canadian television,” said Paul Robertson, president of Shaw Media (part of Shaw Communications). “We’re thrilled to bring viewers this generation of golf’s best players competing for the top prizes and titles.”

The deal includes the right to broadcast weekend coverage of Presidents’ Cup play in 2015 and 2017, as well as:

  • Players’ Championship;
  • Memorial Tournament;
  • Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) Canadian Open; and
  • four FedExCup playoff events.

“We are delighted to enter into this partnership with Shaw Communications,” said Tim Finchem, PGA Tour commissioner. “Canadian golf fans have always demonstrated a strong appetite for PGA Tour golf and this partnership allows those fans to enjoy our product on a consistent platform for the next five years. The PGA Tour is committed to golf in Canada and we are delighted to have Shaw as our partner.”

Additionally, Global will air 30-minute shows every Sunday, featuring highlights and player interviews from the tour.
